Elings Park has been serving the Santa Barbara community for more than 50 years. The park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is one of the largest privately-funded parks in the country. It provides pristine recreational and event facilities for both locals and visitors. Boasting more than 200 acres of space, the park is one of the destination’s top locations for sporting events and outdoor adventure. Elings Park houses sports fields, BMX and mountain biking tracks, wedding venues, and local festivals. Other park amenities include picnic sites and playground areas. Things to Do at Elings Park Elings Park is home to many traditional sporting fields including baseball, soccer, softball, lacrosse and rugby. But something that makes the park unique is that it also provides access to extreme sports such as mountain biking, hang gliding, paragliding and BMX. Elings Park has nine miles of multi-use trails that showcase pristine views of both the mountains and the ocean. These tracks are open to mountain bikers as well as BMX event holders. At the Park’s South Bluff is where you will find paragliding and hang gliding providers. Three local businesses –Eagle Paragliding,Fly Above All andFly Away Hang Gliding – offer their lessons and services here. Elings Park Weddings and Events Because of the wide array of venues, Elings Park is also a popular spot for weddings and events. The park offers two differentwedding venues – Godric Grove and Singleton Pavilion. Both venues are outdoors with views of the mountains and Pacific Ocean. Tents and valet parking are just two of the many amenities available when hosting a wedding at Elings Park. As for festivals and events, Elings Park has played host to sporting tournaments, family reunions, beer festivals, balloon and wine festivals, summer camps and more. At the north part of the park is where you will find the sports fields, Veterans’ Memorial Walk, and the wedding and event venues. The hiking, biking and horse-riding trails as well as hang gliding and paragliding are located at the southern end of the park.
